Spinosaurus was a large carnivorous dinosaur during the Cretaceous period. Some theories suggest that Spinosaurus used this structure for thermoregulation and/or mating rituals. Spinosaurus  was the largest of all known carnivorous dinosaurs, even larger than T-Rex, reaching around 52-59 ft in length, and weighing approx. 7-9 tonnes.
